Join us on Saturday, OCTOBER 21st from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for our next Its My Park Day featuring a bilingual (Spanish/English) puppet show "Mi Bebe es un Heroe" (My Baby is a Hero) by Repertorio Theater Company, facepainting, flower-bulb planting and refreshments. Everything is FREE and everyone is invited! Special thanks to City Councilman Mark Levine for his financial support.

Over 100 people attended our most recent It's My Park Day on May 7th, 2017 featuring the puppet show, "Cinderella Samba," sponsored by the City Parks Foundation. Thank you!

Friends of Anibal Aviles Playground/Amigos del Parque de Anibal Aviles is a group of parents, schoolchildren, residents, neighbors and businesses dedicated to maintaining and improving the facilities in the park.

After forming in July 2015, the Friends of Anibal Aviles Playground succeeded in persuading the NYC Parks Department to install a new child safety fence in December 2015, and In February 2016 FOAAP won our first Partnership for Parks grant to hold an “It’s My Park Day” event in April 2016, which nearly 100 people attended. The park has been in TD Bank’s “Rooted in New York” campaign over the summer of 2016, and won inclusion on the Parks Department “Community Parks Initiative” list that enabled the playground equipment and the grounds to be to be painted in October 2016. In December 2016 FOAAP participated in the New Yorkers for Parks “Daffodil Project” and planted 250 bulbs with the help of 20 children and parents from a local preschool. In April 2017 we won our SECOND Partnership for Parks grant to pay for special events in the playground. Coming up in May 2017 FOAAP will host its second annual It's My Park Day event and is honored to have been awarded a presentation of the Puppetmobile's "Cinderella Samba" sponsored by the City Parks Foundation. Please join us!
